Today's exercise in weirdness is "NUMBERS
STATIONS"
Radio enthusiasts have been baffled by these enigmatic shortwave
broadcasts for decades.
There are a great many websites devoted to these Numbers Stations.
Nobody has succeeded in tracking down the origins of the transmissions
nor in cracking the codes
so for lack of a better idea, the broadcasts are generally attributed
to spies and espionage.
Of course, I'm not buying that explanation. Not in this day and
age.
Regardless of where they come from, the transmissions may provide yet
another resource for
"background" fodder to receive Spirit messages and there are a whole
lot of Numbers Stations
recordings to use on the linked page.
I recorded 20 seconds of this
one (tcp d1 4 phonetic alphabet nato irdial) from roughly 5
feet away into a digital voice recorder and a one-word EVP did show up
at the beginning upon playback:
