Since you are reading this page, you already have everything that you need to converse with Spirit Folk

You need look no further than your trusty computer or you can get pretty fancy with it.
What follows then, is a list of expensive equipment that you don't even need.
 Spirit Folk will yak at you no matter what you record them with.

The key is to obtain Spirits to talk to.  That is very easy to do...invite them.

"GIVE ME A CALL!"

The word"INVITE"is not used loosely here.
I got this information directly FROM THEM:

"IT IS AN INVITATION"

They normally have to be "invited" though in some instances, like mine, it appears that the initial invitation was assumed on their part.  Mine arrived on their own, but if you detect a definite lack of Spirit presence in your own home, than you'll need to round some up.

 Invite them, that's all you'll have to do.

What else do you need to know about hosting a contingent of Spirit Folk at your place?

Will they "get" you?

My only advice is to be very considerate of their feelings and avoid being rude or demanding of them.  They can become emotional somewhat easily and while they may not actually hurl physical objects at you like in the movies, they can.
More likely, you will be EXTREMELY shocked and dismayed by what you hear on your recordings if you do not respect their feelings and intellect.

I've seen all manner of crazy mumbo jumbo about surrounding yourself with light for protection, burning sage, salting the floor and whatnot, but my guess is that
the Spirits laugh their rear ends off when people do such things.
It doesn't work.
 

Inasmuch as Spirits must have a direct, assumed or implied invitation,
they can also be"UNINVITED".
 Invite or uninvite them but above all, pul-eeeze be respectful of their feelings and
give them some credit for having intelligence.

Remember that they are people.

(Well, maybe not all of them)
but you can't go wrong treating Spirit beings,
(even the ornery ones), as you would treat anyone that you know and really like.
The sage burners are really just issuing a standoffish kind of invite.

If you want to get on a Spirit person's good side, do something nice for him.
You will be utterly astounded at the thank yous and gratitude that comes back.
Why?
Because nobody else ever does anything at all for THEM.
You have invited them in, SO OK, they consider themselves your guests.

How do you treat your guests, then?

  If you put something special out just for them like some cookies, soda, pretty flowers, beer or what have you, somehow or other they are able to get them, (I don't know how)

"CHARLI GOT SOME CANDY!"

but you'll hear about how much they enjoyed their treats.

They also consider a burning candle "a courtesy"

Your intentions are very, very important.
Do Not call up Spirit Folk just to mess with them.

Many people are capturing the conversations of the undead on their PC's these days and there are a number of ways that you can do that:
 (assuming that you have already advised The Spirit World of your Open House )

Chances are good that you have this device sitting in your computer:

The WINDOWS SOUND RECORDER
You can record Spirit Voices directly into your Computer by clicking on the RED button.

Here is a neat exercise:  Record yourself asking The Spirit World a Question.
Now use the REVERSE function of the sound recorder and then listen to your reversed recording.
Did you receive an intelligible response?
Does the voice still sound like yours?
You may even find that the voice has switched genders!!
This is a quick and fun way to see if any Spirit Folk have come aboard.

Try recording some radio static or record really anything. Listen for voices on the playback,
then reverse the .wav and listen again.  You can have lots of fun, with nothing more than the
Windows Sound Recorder!

Many AAEVP members use his program.  It provides for a background "Sound Source"
that the Spirits may use to modulate their voices with, while you are recording them.

Again, this is the Sound editing program of choice for most EVP researchers.
You can cut to the chase and record Spirits right off of this program if you want to.
There are numerous other Sound Editing programs available on the same link as Cool Edit, you may find something FREE.  Just be sure to get one with Amplify and Reverse

If your invitees are not into P.C.s, you may want to invest in a digital voice recorder.  I purchased this baby from RADIO SHACK

Here's a little hummer that will set you back about $200 but you can go around recording absolutely ANY noisy thing in your house, like your dishwasher, bathroom fan or also
(heh heh)
your coffee pot, and find a whole plethora of Spirit Speak on the playback.

Another nice feature of the souped-up model is that it will download your recording directly into the computer
via the accompanying USB cable.
